Setting a Hanukkah table: blue, white and silver
Hanukkah begins at sundown on Friday, December 4 this year and ends on Saturday, December 12. Eight nights, and usually at least one long dinner for family and friends.

Leave room for the menorah
The menorah is lit each night, and it needs a steady, clear spot of its own, often on a side table or by a window rather than among the plates. Plan the table around it. Our catalog does not include a menorah, so bring your own and we will help you dress the table it stands near.
Blue, white and silver
Blue and white with silver is the classic Hanukkah palette, and it is easy to build from the collection. The Dusty Blue Velvet Napkin is $1.75 and the deeper Velvet Navy Blue Napkin is $2.50. A clean White Mercer Dinner Plate at $1.50 lets the blue carry the table.
For glassware, the Indigo Crystal Glassware comes as a water goblet, wine glass and champagne flute at $1.50 each. Silver Matte Flatware is $0.75 a piece. For a patterned cloth, the English Cottage Blue Table Linen is $38.
Serving pieces for latkes and sufganiyot
Hanukkah food is shared: latkes with applesauce and sour cream, brisket, and sufganiyot for dessert. Serving pieces matter more than extra settings. A Large Round Display Tray, $25, carries a stack of latkes, and a Silver Bowl (Medium), $10, holds the applesauce or the doughnuts.
A table of twelve, counted
A seated dinner of twelve, with coffee after:
| Piece | Per guest | 12 guests | Price | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| White Mercer Dinner Plate | 1 | 12 | $1.50 | $18 |
| Silver Matte Flatware (dinner fork, dinner knife, tea spoon) | 3 | 36 | $0.75 | $27 |
