Flatware by the piece: ordering for your menu

Flatware is rented one piece at a time, so a table carries only the pieces its menu uses. Here is how that works, and how to count what you need.

A place setting on a green toile plate with a ribbon-tied napkin, silver forks on the left and a knife and spoon on the right, crystal glassware behind

Every piece is its own line

Each of our ten flatware collections is priced per piece rather than per set. Gold Matte Flatware, for example, lists a dinner knife, dinner fork, soup spoon, dessert fork and tea spoon, and you choose a quantity for each one.

Not every collection has the same pieces. Silver Matte Flatware also includes a soup spoon, while Charcoal Matte Flatware comes as a dinner knife, dinner fork and salad spoon. A dinner with no soup course simply leaves the soup spoons off.

What the pieces cost

Most collections are $0.75 a piece. Ivory Estate and Espresso Estate are $1.00, and Capri Gold is $1.25. Those are rental rates per piece, for the event.

Counting for your guest list

Start from the menu rather than a standard set. A dinner with a main course and dessert needs a dinner fork, a dinner knife and a dessert fork for each guest, plus a tea spoon if coffee is served.

For 120 guests that is 480 pieces, which in a $0.75 collection comes to $360 in flatware. It is worth adding a few spares of each piece for a dropped fork or a late addition to the guest list.

What the estimate covers

When you add flatware to your event on the site, the running total covers the rental pieces only. It is an estimate, not a booking: our team confirms what is available for your date and quotes delivery and setup separately.
